The phrase 'razed to the ground' is to be banned because of the utter confusion it causes.

Professor Charles Langtree of Felchfield Polytechnic explains.

'People hear 'raised' when someone says 'razed' and this is obviously confusing.'

'You can't raise something to the ground. Unless it's a Chilean Miner or a child stuck down a well.'

'Seriously, what other context does anyone ever use 'razed'?'

'I'm just heading into the garden to raze the old shed? No, I'm going to demolish or knock down the old shed.'

'The phrase makes as much sense in people's minds as  'I'm going to lower it into the sky.'

'It's bullshit. Just say demolish like a normal fucking person.'

'Razed to the ground! Cunts.'
