Dmitry Kovtun, who was to testify from Moscow via video link on Monday, has come down with a really nasty cold and will therefore never be able to give evidence it has emerged.
Accused of merely fishing for information for the Russian state with no intention of ever giving evidence, Mr. Kovtun denies this.
'No, not at all' said Mr. Kovtun with two heavies pointing pistols at him.
'I am really, really unwell and quite incapable of ever giving evidence and, erm, where's the script? Oh thank you and 'President Putin is in no way responsible for any of this or any of the worlds ills.' Yes that's it.'
'Can I just enjoy my flat now please? I was promised a flat and a quiet life for doing, erm, my duty. Can I live in peace?'
