A set of bronze sculptures that some are speculating were by Michelangelo were actually made by Lionel Richie.
The bronze riders were linked with the Renaissance artist by Professor Paul Joannides from the University of Cambridge. However new evidence has emerged that the former Commodores singer is the sculptor.
'It's true' said Richie while promoting his latest album Smooth Inoffensive Middle-of-the-Road Grooves. 'After we did the 'Hello' video, I fell in love with sculpture. Having that woman's hands all over my face gave me an appreciation for manipulation with my hands. The next logical step was obviously men on horseback.'
Using complex dating techniques, Dr. John Slabbing of the University of Rotherham confirmed the finding. 'Using fission carbon track dating I can confirm the sculpture was made on 14th October 1985, just before afternoon tea. A monday.'
