Middle class couple, Colin and Anne Miles, have declared bankruptcy after visiting a food fair.
Visiting the Wallasey Food Fair on the Wirral, the couple fell victim to their nationality.
Colin said 'As we approached each stand and looked at the delights on offer, the seller would give us samples and tell us the history of their wares. And then guilt would take over and we were too polite to walk off. So we bought everything they had to offer. At every stall.'
Anne picks up the story 'The bank has called and cancelled our mortgage. Our credit rating has never been lower. Tonight, we are sleeping in a tent in what has become known as the The Stiff Upper Tent Village. On a daily basis people come and take what little possessions we have left and we all just smile and thank them.'
