With the renewal of the BBC charter on the horizon, the BBC has been looking for new and innovative sources of funding.

Looking at the corporation assets, the sale of Mary Berry, Bruce Forsythe and Terry Wogan is expected to raise much needed revenue.

Director General, Michael Philips explains 'After the sale of Broadcasting house, we are looking at our older assets. Mary Berry is a very attractive property. Interwar with a lovely thatched room, she can bake well but struggles to support heavier weights, so don't put a mutli-gym in her upper floors.'

He continues 'Bruce Forsythe has a characterful chin frontage and has the added advantage of a removable thatch which needs frequent washing. The foundations are prone to tapping. And Terry Wogan also has a removeable and washable thatch and lovely droll stone walls.'

All of the BBC's properties for sale can be found on Rightmove under National Treasures.
