Robin Thicke and Pharrell's hit single Blurred Lines has led to a court case over recognition and royalties it has emerged.

Pharrell, who penned some of the lyrics and hooks, has been accused of plagiarism and breach of copyright.

Karl Pherson, spokesman for the Marvin Gaye estate said 'Marvin's family are disappointed and saddened by these events.'

'There is no way, under any circumstances, Marvin would have written such lyrics. He would have been far less subtle and said he loves a bit of rape.'

He continued 'Marvin loved the ladies. It didn't matter if they loved him back. As long as he had his hand cuffs and chloroform, he was good to go.'
