After the resounding vote in favour of gay marriage, the Irish Catholic church has said it needs a reality check.
Speaking from his Dublin office, Cardinal James Doolan said 'The Ireland of today is a changed country.'
He continued 'We have to face reality. There is nothing wrong with being gay and said people can marry.'
'Other realities we have to face is that God doesn't exist and we are wasting our and everyone else's time trying to convince them otherwise.'
'Basically, we should just fuck off and go home.'
