Pages that have been radiocarbon dates to the early 7th century are almost certainly original pages of the Koran it was announced today.
Found in Mecca Bingo, Birmingham, the pages had apparently been forgotten.
'We found one of them in an early copy of Loaded. And another in a bumper summer edition of Heat.' said manager Gary Holst.
'We have a policy in this bingo hall of ensuring our customers get the very latest magazines to read so we ensure we clear out the old ones at least every 20 years. We try not to have any magazines from the last millenia.'
'You can imagine our shock when we found pages from the millenia before that then. Perhaps we need to clean up a little more often.'
