Putting ice randomly into drinks because it is summer has got to stop according to one leading scientist.

Professor Charles Langtree of Felchfield Polytechnic said 'All of this ice is bad for your teeth.'

'It tends to crack them. And sitting there crunching it like some feral dog with a horse bone is tantamount to self-harm.'

'Putting it in cider was bad enough, but bitter and red wine and crimes against our nations joyous alcohol dependency.'

Commenting on how the trend had gone as far as putting ice in hot bovril, Professor Langtree said 'Now you're just taking the piss!'
