Sean Penn: Mein Kampf
After Sean Penn asked how his friend and Birdman director Alejandro González Iñárritu got a green card in a near the knuckle 'joke', he has been talking about his struggles.
Penn has had a turbulent life and career. Of his recent years he said 'I have tried to be an angel. I have committed myself to the Haitian rebuilding campaign and befriended good, democratic men such as Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. They really do care about the masses and their freedoms.'
He continued 'I struggle sometimes with the realisation of just how wonderful I am. I am a beacon in a torrid world.'
When we put it to Penn that beating your wife around the head with a baseball bat, tying her up, verbally and physically abusing her and abandoning her whilst tied up for hours on end does not constitute being a 'beacon' he said simply this:
'Get that fucking microphone out of my face you sack of shit or I'll fucking stab you with my cock in your eye socket.'
Penn was speaking in Berlin on his promotional tour for his new autobiography 'Sean Penn: My Struggle'.
He said of the german translation of his book 'I like it. 'Sean Penn: Mein Kampf' has a certain ring to it. I don't know why but it feels the kind of title a genuinely good guy would choose.'
