The unfolding tragedy in the Alps has led to calls for other airlines to check their air craft and equipment.

Budget airline Britishlandinggear said 'It is on occasions like this that we must consider that using lifejackets made from sewn potato skins might be a saving too far.'

Frenchflaps, known for its nicely odoured and curiously moist flights, said 'Employing fired bestiality loving crop duster pilots is a policy we are willing to review.'

And Irishdrinkstrolley said 'We promise our flights will be less stereotypical. No more drunk pilots. Safety will rise to third on our priority list, just below profits and 'the craic.'

World aviation authorities have pleaded with budget airlines to consider that getting their passengers to their location without dying must be their first priority and not, as written into the airlines corporate constitutions, 'Scalping the bastards for every penny they have.'
