International rape charities have issued a sarcastic statement thanking Chrissie Hynde for her statement that sets the cause back many years it has emerged.
Hynde, who said women dressed in high heels and shirt skirts can expect to be raped, as she had been in the past, is another example of horrific victim blaming.
'Just as we aremaking some headway and persuading people you can't blame the victime irrespective of their dress or behaviour along comes Chrissie to fuck it all up' said head of Rape Crisis Julia Hunt.
'The last thing we need is some old moron with old ideas pissing in our modern soup of ideas.'
