The Syrian city of Palmyra has had one of its oldest and most decrepit structures demolished by local demolition contractors Isis & Co it has been announced.

In their latest project aimed at modernising the architecture of the middle east, Isis & Co has levelled the temple of Baal Shamin.

'It was in a terrible state of disrepair' said foreman Abu Ahmed al-Balfourbeatti

'The pillars were collapsing, the roof had completely gone and there was rubble lying around. It's a health and safety nightmare.'

'So we packed it with sticks of dynamite, attached it to a timed detonator, put a few infidels inside and blew it sky high.'

'All in all, a good days demolition and terrorising. God is Great!'
