Greek negotiators are edging closer to a debt restructuring deal this morning with the troika of the IMF, EU and ECB.

Opinion hooverers have been on the streets of Britain to find out what the public thinks of this latest development and almost universally received the response 'What's a troika?'

'Seriously, do journos just sit in their offices with thesauruses to make the rest of us feel like cretins?' asked James Gregory of Coventry.

Margery Ford of Aberystwyth said, 'Erm, is it that late 80s thing that Gorbechev did? Glasnost and Troika, yes that's the one.'

And Callum Kerr of Braidwood was equally baffled; 'I think it's that American word for lorry driver.'
Jornalists have been criticised of late by the Campaign For Plain English. Their spokesman said, 'We categorically and irrefutably condemn this verbose and florid verbiage.' A National Union of Journalists spokesman responded 'What a chocka word shocker!'
