The woes of the Greek economy have been solved with the transfer of all crockery to melamine it has been announced.
Previously thought to be due to the tax evasion of its citizenry, it has emerged it is the sheer cost of new plates, bowls and cups that has caused Greece's problems.
Georgios Stephanopolis, Minister for Home Affairs and Name Stereotyping said 'I had been camping with some British friends and they had these weird plastic plates. I tried smashing them but they seem to be made of some indestructible super material.'
He continued 'The bowls and cups were the same. Whilst my friends donned their crash helmets there was plastic tablewear bouncing all over the place.'
'It is traditional in Greece to smash everything after each mouthful. It costs a fortune and the minor injuries units are packed with people with bits of ceramic in their face. This will save us a fortune.'
