Chelsea have raised an amazing £12 million for charity with their Premier League victory parade it was announced today.

Touring the streets of London in an open top double decker bus, the sponsored silence was a resounding success with the streets as empty as expected.

'This is great news for us' said SoccerAid chairman Geoff Bellings.

'We can help build football pictches in Africa for genuine football loving kids and fans and not people who turn up on a Saturday because it's fashionable.'

'We very nearly had £14 million but just ten minutes from the end Chelsea's fan turned up and cheered.'

'As it happens he was actually an Everton fan visitting family in London and got confused. But it was too late and the damage was done.'
