Hundreds of people have gathered in Central Park in New York to remember the life, music and beliefs of John Lennon.
As they assemble into a CND sign that, from above, can truly be described as 'a CND sign', we interviewed some of the attendees on just why they were there.
'I love how John and Yoko pursued peace by channelling their vast wealth into lying in bed to make a point. Nobody knows quite what the point was but, by god, they made it' said someone without a job but curiously well dressed.
'I live my life by John Lennon's words and deeds. I, as it happens, am the walrus. And my wife, who said I look stupid as a sea based mammal, has two black eyes and a ruptured kidney for her trouble. Just like John used to do.'
'He really is a hero.'
